Dear Friends,
Tomorrow I will be embarking on a 400+ mile journey on my bike with The
Tour de OG to raise awareness for sustainable (green) business. With this ride I am launching
Riders One, a community of bicycle riders that rides to raise awareness for sustainability and philanthropy.
Cycling has given me so much positive energy in my life and Riders One is my way to try and give something back to society through cycling.
While I am riding the
Tour de OG to raise awareness for sustainability I am also asking for your support to raise funds for
NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness and am devoting this ride to my wife, Jenifer.
Jenifer is a Licensed Social Worker. She currently works as an Intensive Outpatient Psycho Therapist. In other words, she helps people coming out of the psych ward reintegrate into society... she helps them get their life back. The work that she does for struggling people goes mostly unnoticed and unrewarded and funding for this industry is desperately scare.
As with any job, my full time gig as creative director for
Headhigh Creative has its stressful moments. Down servers, pre madonna designers, un compromising clients, etc etc.. but my worst on the job nightmares are always put into perspective when I ask my wife how her day was. She is one of my heroes.
In my opinion knowledge about sustainability and businesses that promotes sustainability is part of the solution for diseases such as mental illness. If the focus from business and society is on the
Triple Bottom Line: People, Planet & Profit, then this world will be a better place. Sharing content that generates conversation and creates valuable connections between our community is one of the goals of Riders One.
